Fabric Landscapes and Seascapes
Landscapes and seascapes use the fabric layering technique. First, I lay the back fabric on a table. Then I place the middle batting on top. Next I create a scene using fabric and decorative yarns. Finally, I cover the whole piece with a layer of tulle netting. I free motion quilt the three layers together.
Impressionistic Art
Underwater Fantasy Seascapes
Foremost, these underwater fantasy seascapes are more impressionistic than realistic. With such diversity of fish, I could not even attempt creating a reality underwater scene. Plus it is so much more fun to imagine what lurks in the deep. In addition, sheer fabric sealife adds layers to the marine scenes. Sea dragons are real. Although it is difficult to tell if they are a plant or an animal. Indeed, they are cousins to sea horses. Incredibly hard to believe! What fun to let our imaginations go wild and add to underwater seascapes!
