One of five different Scottie Dogs bed quilt commissions

Jane, a Scottie breeder in North Carolina commissioned me to make a Scottie quilt.
She writes:
” Ann,the quilt is stunning! You allowed me to make the choices for the sashing and binding. Not only was the experience so exciting seeing the quilt come together through the ppictures, but it was also a learning experience in quilt making for me. We discussed the quilt being finished mid to late August. However, Ann surprised me and completed it before the end of July. So pleased with her craftsmanship that I am going to have her make another one in Spring and Summer colors. I highly recommend her work.”

“You have made a dream of mine a reality-twice. I cannot tell you enough how beautiful I think the quilts are.”

Interested in a Tee Shirt Quilt?

Here are a couple teeshirt quilts I made. The fabric is heat fused with fusible web to prevent stretching. Afterwards, the fabric feels soft almost like velvet. I stab quilted the pieces by hand.

Comments

This is what one client said about their wall quilt commission.

“Ann was very creative and flexible in her ability to work on a group project that my co-workers and I wanted to create for our leader. Her artistic flair gave her the ability to put together many different pieces and unify them together into one beautiful quilt. Our boss was so pleased with the gift that he hung it up in his office the next day.”

Nine Individual Pieces
Made by Friends

I pieced this 9 blocks together. Friends had made for the poet.

Elizabeth, the poet wanted nine blocks sewn together into a wall hanging. Her friends had created the blocks for her based on her poems. This piece took 15 hours to complete. The pieces were not all originally exactly the same size.

Memory Quilts

A memory quilt is a traditional quilt made out of a loved one’s clothing. The person may have grown up or passed. I prefer my bed quilts or throws to be reversible. Even for a very special quilt it is nice to be able to flip it and enjoy the back side. Usually the back is a simpler pattern. Here are some photos of the memory quilts I made for the children of a man who had passed. I work closely with the client to create a piece of their dreams.
